Anna Maria Island Historical Museum

This small museum in the City of Anna Maria shows the island’s fishing village roots through vintage photographs, original maps, and early artifacts. It is air conditioned and easy to enjoy in about an hour. Bar Games & Karaoke

Turtle Talks

The AMI Shorebird and Turtle Monitoring Group hosts these free sessions about the island’s sea turtles. They take place Monday mornings from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, May through August, at Holmes Beach City Hall. Expect photos, videos, kid friendly activity books, and temporary turtle tattoos. Donations are encouraged to support the group’s work.

Yoga and Wellness

Astro Skate is a classic indoor outing. Rent trainer, quad, or inline skates and sign up for a beginner or advanced lesson. When you need a break, there is a full arcade and a snack bar.

Bishop Museum of Science and Nature

The Bishop is the largest natural history museum on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Highlights include a digital planetarium, the Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat, and the interactive Mosaic Backyard Universe. Rotating exhibitions change throughout the year and general admission tickets can be bought online.

Bowlero Bradenton

Bowlero is about a 20-minute drive from the island. It has 64 lanes, an arcade, billiards, dart boards, and a pro shop. The sports bar has a 96-inch projection screen and you can order food and drinks right at your lane. Check the website for current hours and events.

Florida Maritime Museum

Along with maritime history, the museum hosts community art events and workshops for all ages, including Mosaics with Margo, which creates coastal themed mosaics. Livingston’s Amusements

This indoor entertainment center covers more than 50,000 square feet. It has a large arcade, indoor NasKart racing, and SpinZone bumper cars with disco lights. There are also 8 and 9 foot billiards tables and darts, plus a bar and grill with big screen TVs. Hours vary by day and activity, so check the website first.

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium

Mote is a short drive from the island in Sarasota. You can see tropical fish, rays, and sharks, and touch starfish and horseshoe crabs in the touch tanks. John Ringling, the circus magnate, and his wife Mable built this historic estate. The galleries include works by Rembrandt, Degas, and other European masters, along with pieces tied to the Ringlings’ lives.
