If Bridge Street is lively and bustling, Pine Avenue is its laid-back, coastal-chic counterpart. This charming stretch near the City Pier feels polished but still beachy, with pastel storefronts and just enough activity to make it interesting without ever feeling crowded. It is the kind of place where you wander more than you plan.
No matter where you are in your vacation planning, Pine Avenue is a must-see stop on Anna Maria Island.
Getting There
Located on the northern end of Anna Maria Island, Pine Avenue runs from Gulf to Bay, making it one of the most scenic little streets on the island. You can easily explore the whole avenue on foot. The free Anna Maria Island trolley also stops right at the City Pier, at the end of the street, so a car is never really necessary. Bayview Plaza
Right at the tip of Pine Avenue near the pier, Bayview Plaza is the natural first stop before heading west. You can mix a coffee break, a sweet treat, and a little shopping all in one spot. Right where Pine Avenue meets the Gulf, this corner marks the western end of the street, a fitting last stop before the beach takes over. Just beyond this corner, Pine Avenue gives way to the Gulf itself, the natural end point of the walk that started back at Bayview Plaza.

City Pier Park
Right at the corner of Pine Avenue and South Bay Boulevard, caddy corner to the pier itself, City Pier Park has a small playground, a nice stop if you have young kids along and want to let them run off some energy before or after walking the pier. The park also hosts a farmers market on Tuesday mornings, worth timing your visit around if you enjoy browsing local produce and goods while you are in the area.

Coastal Close
Exploring Pine Avenue is less about checking off stops and more about soaking in the atmosphere. Between the coastal cottages, curated shops, easy walkability, and the pier waiting at the end of the street, it captures the softer, more elegant side of Anna Maria Island, a spot you visit once and then return to every trip out of habit.
