The Vibe

Box Sociāāl’s name and vibe derives from the term ‘box social’, a fun concept that was popular in North American during the 1900s. A group of women would decorate cardboard boxes, fill them with dinners for two, and anonymously present the boxes to a group of men. The men would bid on the boxes hoping to win the best combination of dinner and date.
The Service
Amazing service reflecting from a country which prides itself on its excellent service within the hospitality industry. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and well educated on the menu.
The Menu
Take a look at Box Sociāāl’s menu and you will notice that many items cleverly incorporate Dutch local flavors and ingredients, while maintaining inspiration from Aussie roots.
With fabulous weekly specials, the Box menu for brunch and cocktails changes at least twice a year.
It’s also worth mentioning that everything is made from scratch at Box Sociāāl, including the ketchup, mayonaise, burger patties, sausage patties, and chai syrup.
The dishes are mainly vegetarian, or they offer a vegetarian option.
Drinks are not neglected. Locally roasted coffees are on the menu.
Thirsty for an adult beverage? Box Sociaal’s cocktail menu is well worth exploring. Brunch favorites include the Middenlaan Mimosa and the Bloody Oath Sambal Mary. The Stroopwafel Espresso Martini is sure to impress! They also offer a selection of hand-picked wines, some by the glass, and beers.

The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

Box Sociāāl is a great local hangout within the Plantage neighborhood hence mostly locals frequent the eatery.
