If you are looking for something a little different on your Anna Maria Island trip, something that gets you out on the water but is not your typical boat tour, Captain Bam’s Jungle Float might be exactly what you are looking for. It is one of those experiences that is genuinely hard to describe until you have done it. Here is everything you need to know before you go.
Captain Bam’s Jungle Float is one of many ways to get out on the water here. What Is Captain Bam’s Jungle Float
Captain Bam’s Jungle Float is the only floating playground of its kind on Anna Maria Island. Anchored in the waters near Bradenton Beach, the float is an inflatable aquatic park with water slides, jumping platforms, trampolines, and a blob, which is exactly as fun as it sounds. The whole setup is out on the water with the Gulf Coast scenery all around you, which makes it feel completely different from any land-based water park experience.
It is family friendly, thrilling for adults, and the kind of activity that works for pretty much every group, from kids’ birthday parties to multigenerational family trips to a spontaneous afternoon adventure.
What Is Available
One hour on the float with access to everything on board. Here is what is waiting for you.
Water Blob · One person sits on the end of the blob while another jumps, launching the first person flying into the air and into the water. Note that the blob requires winds under 10 mph and operates weather permitting.
Monkey Jump · Leap, flip, and fly off the side of the platform into the water.
Monkey Bounce · A smaller trampoline with less height, perfect for younger kids or anyone who wants to ease into the fun.
Gorilla Bounce · Launch from a 12-foot platform onto a trampoline and soar up to 20 feet in the air before splashing down.
Gorilla Jump · The high dive. Climb to the top of the 12-foot platform and free fall 14 feet into the water.
Jungle Slide · A classic water slide straight into the Gulf. Fun for all ages.
Life jackets are provided throughout and a dedicated team member stays on the float at all times. Check their website for current pricing and availability.
Private Parties and Events
The float can be reserved exclusively for groups of up to 30 people for one hour. A great option for birthday parties, family reunions, bachelorette groups, or any celebration that deserves something memorable on the water. Check their website for current pricing and availability.
Dolphin and Boat Tour
A three-hour private boat tour for up to six people covering the coastal waters around Anna Maria Island. Expect dolphin and manatee sightings, snorkeling, island hopping, and the option to customize with sunset cruises or local bar hopping. An Egmont Key tour is also available. Check their website for current pricing and availability. For more boat tour options around the island, see my Best Boat Tours and Charters on Anna Maria Island: My Insider Guide.

Sun Protection

An hour out on the open water means an hour of direct Gulf sun with very little shade to duck into, so it is worth planning for. Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat that will actually stay on through the jumps, and polarized sunglasses all go a long way toward making the hour more comfortable. I keep a running list of the sun gear I actually use on the island in my Amazon storefront if you need to stock up before your trip.
Local Tips
Book early, especially in peak season · January through April and summer weekends fill up fast. Do not wait until the day before.
Spectators are welcome · If someone in your group wants to watch rather than jump, they can stay on the pontoon boat and catch the whole thing from a great angle, which also makes for excellent video.
Pair it with the rest of your water day · Captain Bam’s fits easily alongside a morning of kayaking, paddleboarding, or jet skiing.
Coastal Close
Captain Bam’s Jungle Float is one of those experiences that ends up being a trip highlight even when people were not expecting it to be. The combination of the open water setting, the genuine thrill of the activities, and the warmth of the staff makes it stand out. Whether you are planning a family adventure, a group celebration, or just want to do something you have never done before, this one delivers. If a bachelorette trip is what brought you to the island, my Bachelorette Parties on Anna Maria Island: My Insider Guide covers everything worth building into the weekend.
